Healthy eating means eating fresh, sensible food

Obesity is a significant problem in the United States not just for people, but for the economy as well. Business spend more than $38 billion annually in health care costs and missed work by employees. Obesity is a contributing factor for diabetes, heart disease and a host of other ailments. Find out more about this study.

Our culture has changed from eating home-cooked meals to processed food and it is killing us. Dieting isn’t helping either. We must get that word out of our vocabulary. Making drastic short-term changes to our eating habits to go on a diet has been proven time and again to make things worse when we go back to our old habits.

Healthy eating means eating fresh, sensible food. I believe in the Mediterranean lifestyle and there are all sorts of clinical studies that show how effective it can be. It focuses on eating fruits, nuts and vegetables and lean, healthy meats.

We can literally fix our problems with food.

Millie Snyder uses the Mediterranean Lifestyle as the basis for her Millie Snyder’s Succeed program. The group meets every Tuesday at 706 Central Avenue at either 9:30 am or 5:30 pm.
